Beyond Perimeter 54...

No one remembers how the Zone appeared, or exactly when. For as long as anyone can remember, Perimeter 54 had always been there, protecting the rest of the world from a geographic anomaly that defies all human logic. Beyond those miles of highly electrified barbed wire, minefields and watchtowers, reason no longer applies.

The Zone does not obey the laws of physics. Gravity shifts at random, radiation poisons air and matter, and death prowls. No reliable map can be drawn, as it seems to change subtly and constantly.

And yet Perimeter 54 has never managed to contain human greed, because the Zone hides treasures: artifacts, physical aberrations endowed with powers that defy reason.

Those who cross the fences at the risk of their lives to unearth these wonders wear no uniform. They are called stalkers. Looters, mystics, fanatics, criminals or fallen scientists, they all share the same obsession as they sink into the heavy silence of the Zone.

They know every step could be their last, that the Zone forgives no mistake, and that the worst threat is not always the anomaly hidden in the fog, but sometimes the stalker walking right behind them. Only the bravest - and the maddest - dare venture into its heart, seeking glory, wealth or power.
